2020 Book of Mormon Study

This year we are studying the Book of Mormon in the Come Follow Me Church curriculum. I’m so excited! The Book of Mormon brings me so much JOY!

I’ve decided to post my thoughts as I ponder each week’s lesson material. I have years’ worth of ponderings in scripture journals–words I look up, thoughts I have as I try to liken a story to my life at a particular moment. Some of these may be interesting to you. Some not. Join in or not as you wish. But please…don’t take anything I have to say as gospel truth.

These are my thoughts and are not Church doctrine (besides actual verses from scripture and Church sites that I quote). The most wonderful thing about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is that we believe in personal revelation. My thoughts might inspire yours, but my greatest hope is that you will read the Book of Mormon and get your own personal revelation for your own questions, challenges, or desires. I’ll end this tiny introduction with words from Moroni, one of the last ancient prophets to write in this holy book:

3 Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts.

4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.

5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things. (Book of Mormon, Moroni 10)

    • Thanks for reading. I’ve let this blog be dormant for a while, but thought I’d do my Come Follow Me insights on it this year. If you ever want to post your own thoughts, go ahead…or send me the post and I can upload it. Happy new year!
